Selling on Amazon to grow my 1 – 2k per month e-commerce business to 5 figures?
I have an ecommerce business selling made to order custom stuff. My margin is good because I can put a higher price tag because of selling custom-made, personalized, made to order items. I am only getting 20 – 30 orders per month.
There is also almost zero risk as it is made to order, i only start spending on materials when someone placed an order.
I would like to grow it to be able to earn 5k USD per month and then hopefully increased to 5 digits per month.
I can produce the items that I am currently selling in bulk but it will no longer customized or made to order, but margin will decrease as price point for non-custom items are lower. And then I can sell them in Amazon and other marketplaces like Walmart.
And since I am not in US, I will need to hire 3PL company to take care of the inventory.
Thinking of those expenses, (production + 3PL/warehouse) it needs a lot of money down.
Do you think FBA is a better option in terms of initial cost vs. 3PL?
Is it a feasible route to grow an ecommerce business?
or do you have any other ideas to grow an ecommerce business?
It is not necessarily the current one but I can also venture to selling other items or source from China.
Additional info:
I am aware there is Amazon Handmade. I submitted everything (including video of handmade process) but they rejected my application. So that’s why I thought of just going to FBA route
