Seperate Parent Listing v Using Variations : Pros & Cons

As title mentioned, I’m curious to hear from others on using either strategy. I’m leaning towards setting up a new parent listing and keeping things seperate, but I like the idea of automatically starting with from my existing listing. Any past experience or advice helps
