Stuck Product, High Storage Fees.

I need to make a decision whether to discard of a certain item or hold onto it and hope for some miracle for sales. I purchased a product wholesale, did not do thorough research and ended up with an item that has dropped so much in price and has a new competitive price just as low. I have had the product for a few months now, selling none no matter how low I drop the price. I am now getting charged almost $100 a month for storage, the products I purchased have costed me roughly 5k CAD and is 500 units. Is it my best bet just to take the loss and pay to have them discarded, or hold onto them? Is there any other option here? Any help is much appreciated.
