Video Verification After Passing Identity Act Verification – Not New Account
We went through the whole Identity Act verification process a couple months ago. Finally got everything done and our Account Health page has a banner that says everything passed.A few weeks ago, we got a performance notification that they need to conduct a video call to verify my identity. We scheduled the video and it was conducted this morning. The email said all we’d need it ID and a bank statement. The call was filled with questions about our returns process, BBB complaints that our website had received years ago, and where our warehouse was located that we manufacture our products at. At the end, he said we need to send a few more docs via email. He even said that he shows I own a web domain for a company that isn’t even in business anymore.
The whole thing seemed very intrusive and they asked for things they just got in the Identity Act verification.
I’m not saying it was a scam or anything. But, the paranoid side of me thinks they had way more to do with something other than just identity verification. I used to think the people who thought Amazon was out to get rid of third party sellers were crazy. Now, not so much.
Seller since 2012.
