How do Amazon pay their sellers?

I want to start selling on Amazon soon as a sole trader in the UK just as a side hussle.

But I’m quite confused about this ‘policy’ that you have to use a credit card when setting up your account. Why can’t I use a debit card?

Also, when it is time to get paid, do they just send the money to your credit card? To me that doesn’t make sense. unless I’m missing some important information, I can’t find a can’t a definitive answer on this.

This might be a dumb question but just wanted to make sure I had all my bases covered before jumping into this.
