FBA vs FBM for getting started

I decided that I want to test out selling out Amazon by first doing retail arbitrage. I was wondering if I should just go straight to FBA or start off with FBM then move to FBA? The end goal is for me to eventually transition from retail arbitrage to wholesaling. Any advice is appreciated!
