Does Amazon take away Brand Registry for an abandoned trademark?

I got Brand Registry once I submitted my application to the USPTO for my brand name via a law firm with Amazon’s IP Accelerator. Now I just heard back that my brand name was declined, despite my lawyer saying that he believed it was going to go through. So the options are to abandon it or pay some money and suspend the application. I can also just pay another couple thousand and pick a new brand name but that is not ideal at the moment because I don’t even know if my business will succeed. I’m wondering if one is better than the other (abandonment vs. suspension) to keep my Brand Registry? How likely will Amazon take Brand Registry away? Thanks!
