Starting to sell

Hi everybody. I’m a husband and father of two lovely babies that had to emigrate to another country in order to make a decent living. It’s been a long time away from home and I’m thinking of coming back but I need some way to support my little family. I thought of starting to sell in Amazon. I have plenty of idle time at work and it’d be a good way. Now I have a couple of questions…hopefully you guys can help me out: 1. The starting amount: I wouldn’t feel comfortable putting more than 2000€. I could put more but I’m the only income at home and I wouldn’t like to jeopardize all our cash. Would this still be enough? I don’t mind if it takes a bit longer, there’s not really a time pressure 2. The model: I thought of buying from Chinese supplier and then retailing. Is there a better, more lucrative method? I Maybe selling it to other sellers? What would be the best way? 3. With the answers to the questions above: How long do you think it could take the business to generate around 2000-3000€ per month?
