Has anyone else had success with this new requirement from Italy to have a 50K deposit to maintain their VAT? It looks like you can possibly go through an insurance company to offer a guarantee but having difficulty finding an insurance company that does this.

Walmart Marketplace’s 2025 Growth Surge: Why Amazon Sellers Are Expanding Now

Why Amazon Sellers Should Pay Attention

In 2025, Walmart Marketplace isn’t just playing catch-up—it’s accelerating fast. From major platform updates to rising third-party seller adoption, Walmart has emerged as a serious channel worth watching.

If you’re an Amazon seller feeling squeezed by rising fees, storage restrictions, and unpredictable catalog issues, it might be time to think bigger—not by leaving Amazon, but by diversifying your footprint.

Here’s what Walmart’s growth means for you—and how to decide if expansion makes sense.

Walmart Marketplace by the Numbers in 2025

  • Over 160,000 active third-party sellers, up 40% year-over-year
  • Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) has doubled warehouse capacity since 2023
  • Advertising tools now include video, retargeting, and improved keyword reporting
  • Seller onboarding time is under 2 weeks for most U.S.-based businesses

While Amazon still dominates in traffic and product breadth, Walmart is closing the gap in key areas like logistics, advertising, and consumer trust.

Thinking of expanding to Walmart? Read this before you make the leap—our full 2025 Amazon vs. Walmart breakdown lays it all out

What’s Changed—and Why It Matters

Onboarding Is Easier Than Ever

Walmart has removed old barriers like invite-only approval and long manual verifications. Most U.S.-based sellers can apply and get set up quickly.

Fulfillment Has Become Competitive

Walmart Fulfillment Services now offers two-day shipping, nationwide reach, and pricing that rivals Amazon’s FBA. With fewer inventory penalties and no IPI score to worry about, sellers have more control over their logistics.

Ads Are Smarter and More Accessible

Walmart Connect now supports video ads, improved keyword targeting, and more robust analytics. It’s not as mature as Amazon Ads, but the cost-per-click is lower, and competition is lighter.

Why Amazon Sellers Are Expanding (Not Jumping Ship)

Amazon is still essential, but Walmart has become a strong secondary channel for sellers looking to protect their margins and diversify operations.

1. Lower Competition, Higher Visibility

Walmart has fewer sellers in most categories. This creates opportunities for early-mover advantage, particularly for established SKUs that may be struggling to stand out on Amazon.

2. Operational Flexibility

Sellers can mix Walmart Fulfillment Services with FBM or 3PL logistics to manage costs without the stress of restock limits or IPI thresholds.

3. Better Margins on Specific Products

Oversized, commodity, and branded items often perform better on Walmart due to lower fulfillment fees and less ad competition.

Is Walmart Marketplace Right for You?

Use this quick seller checklist:

✅ Do you have a few proven SKUs with strong reviews and stable supply?
✅ Are your margins getting squeezed by FBA fees or IPI restrictions?
✅ Do you already run FBM or use a 3PL?
✅ Can your product pages be adapted quickly for Walmart’s listing standards?

If you checked 2 or more, it might be time to test the waters.

Tips to Get Started

  • Optimize listings: Include core keywords in titles and bullet points. Walmart’s SEO requires direct matching.
  • Mobile-first images: Use square formats and text overlays to stand out in Walmart’s search results.
  • Use multichannel tools: Platforms like CedCommerce, Listing Mirror, and Zentail can simplify cross-listing and inventory syncing.
  • Test with top SKUs: Don’t migrate your entire catalog—start with 3–5 products and track performance.

Final Thoughts

Walmart Marketplace is no longer a backup plan—it’s a viable revenue channel for Amazon sellers who want to scale sustainably.

In 2025, smart sellers are using Walmart to future-proof their businesses, expand market reach, and stay agile in a fast-changing ecommerce landscape.

If you’re ready to explore the opportunity, start small, test often, and treat it like the business expansion it is.

Brand Registry Unlinked from Seller Central

Looking for some advice, I’ve had brand registry linked to my seller central account for numerous brands.

Out of nowhere the brands were all disconnected from my seller central account.

When I go to link the brands back to my seller central account or any account, Brand registry asks me to make an appeal.

Your request to add your account Xxxxxxxx to the selected brands is declined, since the merchant account is not eligible for brand registry. We reserve the right to decline requests where we have identified that your account has either been involved in abusive conduct on our website or you are related to an account that was used for such abusive conduct.

The appeal asks me to answer these two questions –

What are the duties of the ‘to be added user’ in your brand?

Enter the email address of the ‘to be added user.’

I’ve been declined twice so far with an generic response back of the below –

a) your account was engaging in conduct that violates Brand Registry’s policies, such as, but not limited to, invalid notice submissions through our notice submission channels or tampering with the catalog;

b) your application or account is related to other Amazon accounts or brands that have violated Amazon or Brand Registry’s policies,

c) you are associated with one or more selling accounts as a primary owner and all of them have failed seller verification,

d) inability to provide sufficient evidence of branding on products/packaging;

e) you have a selling account that is de-activated, or f) your trademark application appears to be filed by a filing firm that may be violating US federal regulations and USPTO rules (explained below).

I have to assume the issue is linked to a) or b) due to the brand is approved and set up still in brand registry. As well as in the appeal process they state that the issue is based on abusive behavior. All of the brands are unlinkable, so it’s not a trademark issue.

At one point we did report some sellers for counterfeit product/trademark infringement that they appealed and won, but this must have been 3-4 Years ago at this point. This is the only thing I can think of. I spoke to this in the appeal, but had not have success.

Has anyone ever had this issue? Any guidance? Anything else someone can think of can be?

Thanks

Deferred transactions due to delivery date policy?

Hi, recently all of my sales have been moved into deferred status due to delivery date policy, with 7 days being placed on each transaction after its delivery date. I’ve never had this issue before and I’ve been using Amazon for nearly one year. Why so sudden? Is anyone else experiencing this? Thanks

Overcoming objections from distributor / brands?

Is it worth even trying ? Has anyone had any success?

What strategies have you tried?

4 main objections.

1) We only sell to brick and mortar stores.

2) We are not accepting online sellers now.

3) We don’t accept Amazon and Walmart sellers

4) We only sell to professionals. For example Dentist, Vets, Salon owners.

What do you guys think. Should I still push it back a little. Have you had success?

Right now I am dealing with #2 and it would be a shame if I let this distributor go.

“removing the historical sales rank line” Why?? I love that thing. It’s really useful

In an effort to improve data quality, we’re updating the Sales card by removing the historical sales rank line from the graph. While the current sales rank will still be visible above the graph, this change will ensure you have access to the most reliable data. This update will roll out gradually over the coming weeks.
