Buy from importer/wholesaler repackage as private label

Hello, I’m interested in buying dry food goods in bulk from an importer or wholesaler and repackage the item as my own private label. I’m doing this temporarily until I find it viable enough to buy larger quantities directly from the manufacturer.

Are there rules against this? If not, what proof would be needed from Amazon?
