Don’t mention the “C” word!

For those of us that source our products in China, I think we should prepare for potential carnage coming our way.

I deal with about 30 suppliers all over China. Last week a number of them mentioned delays, hold ups and manufacturing restrictions due to “the virus”

I had not heard much from my suppliers about the Covid situation in months. China is also reporting almost no cases.

3 of the factories that mentions this were thousand of miles apart. Shenzhen, Shanghai and Chengdu.

The sudden collective mention of these issues in a 3 day period at such distances must mean they are experiencing widespread growth in case numbers.

In 2 weeks the Chinese New Year begins. This is the largest migration of people on earth. Millions will pass through cramped train stations, bus stations other transport corridors. The entire 2 weeks is about meeting a mixing with others.

I think we will experience wide spread chaos when the CNY ends.
