How do you decide when to give up on a product?
I have a product right now that I buy for $15, sell for $20-$25. So roughly 30-60% margin.
However after Amazon FBA fees and PPC cost, I end up losing money.
I am Ranking on the first page on my top two keywords and recently have been bringing in more organic sales. But in order to break even (according to the SKU Economics page), I would have to triple my price just to break even.
I have lowered my ACOS from about 300% to 94%.
I have sold 100 units (6-10 a day) and lost about $1800.
I am running out of inventory and need to order more soon but I am hesitant. Is it normal to lose this much on a relatively competitive product? I’m trending in the right direction but am not sure if it is worth it to buy more.
EDIT FOR CLARITY – I am looking for others who may have been in a similar boat.
Did your product turn out to be profitable? Or did you cut the losses immediately and never look back
