I am a manufacturer who sells on Amazon. Currently we have 25 piggybackers selling our product, with about 15 who have a lower price than us. I know these piggybackers are buying our product through a certain distributor, and I know what price they are paying for it. It’s pretty easy to calculate that most of them are making pennies, and more than a few of them are actively losing money. I attribute this to the sellers letting programs buy and reprice products on their behalf. I’m just curious, how many of you are selling products at a loss? Do you know it’s selling at a loss, or does it get lost in the shuffle? What is your rationale for selling at a loss?
