Issue with a manufacturer from Alibaba

I had an order come in recently that was my 6th order from a manufacturer that had been very reliable so far. The part of the order I’m having an issue with is for a listing that is a variation of different color combinations- previously 2 colors and different quantities, added a 3rd color in this order. For the reordered colors, one of the colors was black (which was fine) and the other was supposed a medium gray. I received a very dark gray, almost black. This is for a home decor item so color is important. The highest selling combo in the variation is 2 of each color, which doesn’t look good when they’re so close together.

I contacted my manufacturer about it and he said that they were out of stock on the material for the medium gray so they substituted the dark one. And since they don’t have any, the MOQ for sq meters is so high that it would be ordering like 20x as many as I want, which doesn’t work for me.

Now this manufacturer is very important to me, so what do you think I should push for given that I don’t want to damage the relationship? I had a similar experience with another vendor and we agreed that I would keep the wrong color and reorder the correct color at half cost. This seems like it’s going so much worse than that since I might not be able to get my correct color at all!
