I’m hoping someone can help me. I have tried so many times with Amazon that I’m losing my mind. Our previous IT person with my company set up an Amazon seller account. He set it up so the primary account was in his own name but everything else (credit card, banking etc) was company account info. Shortly after he said it up, I came on board as inventory and warehousing management. He gave me admin rights to the account and I took over any inventory updates and delegating orders to our warehouses.
He was fired about a year ago, and my boss kind of had me take over many of his roles. I have successfully transferred all other accounts into a business name with an email linked to mine (that I can at least easily transfer if I were to leave) but Amazon will not remove him as primary account holder. Initially, this was not an issue. I spoke with Amazon and because I had access to his email, I changed the password on his account so he couldn’t log in and Amazon assured me that I had the ability under my own account to make any other account changes. This was preferable because it meant I didn’t have to start a new account and lose all of our positive feedback.
It’s now become a problem because our APIs aren’t working and I can’t update any of that not being the “primary”. Our credit card on file expired and I can’t update that. There are a multitude of other issues that have come up that have come up as well but those are the main issues. I can’t even update the phone number attached to his login (it is a phone number that no longer belongs to the previous employee or the company).
Any time I try to get help, I just get a basic “unfortunately there’s nothing we can do about that. You’ll have to create a new account” and case closed.
I’m at a total loss on what to do and so frustrated that Amazon is unwilling to help solve this. Has anyone had success? Does anyone have any ideas here that would prevent me from opening a new account?
